Martin Mechanical Inc.
The 83-year history of Martin Mechanical Inc. is built upon values, Faith, empowering of others, sacrifice, honesty and commitment.
Martin Mechanical Inc. was founded in 1930 as Martin Boiler Company by Ernie Martin. For 48 years, Martin Boiler Company provided boiler related services to homes and businesses in and around metropolitan Kansas City. In 1978, the company was purchased by Jim Kafka, and the name of the company was changed to Martin Mechanical Inc. The company remained focused on providing boiler services throughout Kansas City and its surrounding suburbs. Martin was one of the few mechanical contractors in the area with qualifications as an ASME R, PP and S & U stamp holder.

In 1990, Mr. Kafka began adding personnel with broader areas of expertise, allowing him to diversify the company and providing additional contracting opportunities. Martin Mechanical Inc. was now pursuing work in new areas including: Bid Sped, Design/Build, and Negotiated. Martin Mechanical Inc. technical personnel were now experienced in the field of boilers, but also had expertise with chillers, HVAC, process piping and hydronics.

In 1994, Mr. Kafka purchased a small refrigeration contractor, venturing into another new field, Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration. Martin Mechanical Inc. provided services to many local grocery stores, along with ice cream manufacturers and refrigerated warehouses. It was at this time that Mr. Kafka started an affiliated company called Martin Systems. Martin Systems was a manufacturer's representative for various lines of refrigeration equipment, with its principal lines being Hill Phoenix and Keeprite. In the mid 1990's Martin Mechanical Inc. saw its greatest growth, with as many as 30 personnel and approximately 7 million dollars in sales.

Today, Martin Mechanical Inc. continues its mechanical contracting history. Mr. Kafka passed the baton to three excellent, former employees, with a combined 89 years of experience. Jim Rogers, Kirt Lawrence and Chuck Paszkiewicz bring a variety of field experience, along with marketing, service management, and project management experience to Martin Mechanical Inc.. Their insight and experience are now brought to bear on a broad range of projects, working directly with engineers, manufacturers, and with the owner/customer.

Finally, and perhaps most important, the 83-year history of Martin Mechanical Inc. is built upon values, Faith, empowering of others, sacrifice, honesty and commitment. These values guide the way in our relations with our associates, striving to treat others the way we would like to be treated and doing things the right way even if it is not the easy way. Martin Mechanical Inc. will continue to live out our mission to preserve the "lifeblood" of your system for years to come.
